Have just been checking out the psychic children website and James Twyman's site on Indigo and psychic chidren.

I was intrigued to read of Michael Scallion's work on Blue Ray Children published in 1988 in which he claims these children are prototypes of a new root race.

Characteristics include:

They have vivid dreams and recall their dreams easily.

Have an affinity with learning languages.

Can be determined and stubborn.

Stare into space a lot.

Vary between a daydreaming state and being highly focused.

Have a desire to travel to foreign countries.

Oh my goodness. I can tick all of those. All my friends and family would certainly agree with 1,3,4 and 5. I drove (and continue to drive them) crazy with my dream accounts, daydream states and sudden bursts of singleminded drive. As for 2 and 6, see my profile I also went into an ecstatic state of consciousness when I was a child at the sight of a deep blue crayon and used to say I came from the Blue Ray. Everyone always said I was "funny."

James Twymnan and other writers on Indigo and other psychic children seem to suggest they are born in the last 25 years or so, which lets me out.

Maybe I was a kind of proto type. An early experiment of Mother Nature. I don't think I was a very successful one though.

Reading on James Twyman's site www.emissaryoflight.com. about psychic children in Bulgaria who can transmit metal bending abilties to others and a 6 year old in China in whose presence 1,000 rose buds opened simultaneously, my psychic powers are somewhat feeble.

I was inspired after reading that to try bending a kitchen knife through psycho-kinesis, but it didn't so much as quiver. Probably a good thing as I am always in trouble for not putting knives back in the right place in the block. Mangling the stainless steel would probably get me thrown out of the house.

As for making flowers open, our lillies remain tightly shut. Poor things can't face all this rain in our Great British summer and they obviously aren't impressed by my psychic powers of persuasion.

Now I did have an incredible dream about lilly men dressed in green with flower caps when I was about eight which I still recall really intensely and regularly chat to the lilly man who looks after ours down here in rainy North Devon. And I'm off to Austria and Brazil later this year. And Bulgarian is my 6th language or there abouts. (I keep losing count though am fluent in none as I country hop so much and have to start learning another one.)

Hey, Maybe there is hope for me yet.

Did I see that spoon bend, just a little?

New short fiction soon to be published plus brilliant bookbinding course for writers.

Am in the process of republishing my short fiction - THE SERPENT OF THE WOOD, THE GUARDIAN AND THE GODDESS, THE LADY OF THE ROCK (For 8-12s) and FENG SHUI AND BABYLON. (For 12+)
These will be available on quality paper from sustainably managed forests.

The only thing holding up publication now is Hewlett Packard's scam of marketing print cartridges that only last for about 150 copies. Need to find more economical printer or source of cheaper print cartridges.

Have prepared these short booklets prior to publishing longer novels thanks to amazing bookbinding course which empowers the writer to publish short print runs and market from home, cutting out the publisher entirely. This course is one of the best investments I ever made as a writer and publisher. Will shortly be putting details on this blog.

New Booklet!

At last! After weeks of work, I have finally republished the first of my short fiction for readers of 8-12. BIFFY AND THE BARROW is a 20 page story printed on quality paper from sustainably managed forests which is part of a series aimed at encouraging children to respect the planet and the natural forces of the earth.

When Jacko and his gang decide to use the mound as a scrambling ground for their motorbikes, Biffy's warnings of trouble come dramatically true.

First published as a limited edition as part of my BA course at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1994, the updated version is published by Cara Louise Books.
